Our resort in Phuket focuses on Paleo meals and encourages us to drink a lot of water. We also start off each morning with a cup of "Bulletproof Coffee," a controversial concoction of coffee, butter and coconut oil that totals about 450 calories (compared to 300 in an Egg McMuffin)! By Day 2, the staff apparently recognized that they might need to supersize Dale's TP supply.
Also, each morning we go for a walk at a different location in Phuket, which has included a lake, dam reservoir, beachfronts, and dinosaur park.
Early in our stay, we tried an ice bath. This is supposed to help sore muscles. In retrospect, the first 5 minutes are awful. Once your body goes numb, the remaining time is bearable. The second time we did the ice bath, the staff played "My Heart Will Go On," the love theme from Titanic. For the third ice bath they played,"Ice, Ice, Baby."
Also during our stay, we walked several kilometers up winding hills to see The Big Buddha, a 45-meter-tall, alabaster buddha statue with the best views of Phuket.
We ended the day with delicious meal of lamb, and a couple's massage. More updates from Phuket later.
